ScOPE
A Booklet Describing a Framework for Enhancing University-Based Teacher Education
As a consortium of The University of Houston System, The Texas A&M University System, The Texas State University System, and The University of Texas System, CREATE works to provide opportunities for member institutions and the profession at large to systematically explore quality and effectiveness issues related to teacher preparation, retention, and student achievement.

Nicholas Michelli, facilitator for the 2012 CREATE Professional Development Series, is Presidential Professor in the City University of New York's Ph.D. program in Urban Education. Dr. Michelli previously served as CUNY's University Dean for Teacher Education and Dean of the College of Education and Human Services at Montclair State University. He has published both nationally and internationally and continues his work to promote the improvement of teacher education.

80% of the teachers initially certified in 2004 through CREATE member institutions were still teaching during the 2008-2009 academic year.
